HIIT has so many benefits. I do one type called the 4x4 developed by the Norwegian Institute of Sci & Tech. It is done by staying in specific heart rate zones (1-2 mins at 80% of HR-max, then 3 min at 60% HR-max, 4 cycles). Only do twice a week and so much more fit, notice the change doing regular yoga.
Cancer cells in the circulation can’t tolerate fast moving blood and are literally torn apart by the high shear velocity. Exercise literally stops cancer, it’s well known.
Why does Chris Hoy have a terminal cancer diagnosis then? Exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer, but it does not 'literally stop cancer'
Exercise may not completely prevent cancer but could prevent recurrence. That’s why I started and continue to do the most exercise I’ve ever done in my life after getting a cancer diagnosis.
According the study: Alcohol consumption was classified for both men and women as none/minimal (<1 drink/wk), light/moderate (1-14 drinks/wk), and high (>14 drinks/wk)
I hadn't heard of the Feisty Menopause - thanks for enlightening me! That bike ride through Spain sounds fabulous. Speaking of bikes, I'm excited to hear how much your Peloton improves your strength and fitness over the coming months. I've thought about getting one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Fascinating article as always; I love reading about all the research you do. 🥰
Feisty Menopause fan over here! Selene is sharing so much helpful information about menopause. And congrats on the Peloton! I'm in a big walking phase right now (in addition to my usual mountain biking), but I still hop on the Peloton every now and again when I can't get outside.
At that price point, she can HIIT

Cancer is tricky but is certainly helps reduce risk and improve quality of life.
What would constitute light to moderate drinking in this context?
