Happy Birthday, MaryAnn! I am very grateful for all your hard work and newsletters! I listen to a podcast called Begin Again with Davina McCall that I think you would like. Particularly, I think you should give her episode with women's health expert and GP Dr. Night Arif a listen!

ok I am 67. I have read your articles. Thank you. The hard part is keeping it straight in my head; I take a small amount of estradiol couple times a week. I still have ovaries, uterus, etc. I also have recently begun taking a couple of things from a site called Parlor Games. I don't know if you were the one who wrote about bio identical hormones, but I read that, too. The Parlor Games stuff is made from herbal stuff, etc etc. I don't know what the BIH that Suzanne Somers sold or died from or anything. I use these (along with what the gyn proscribed -estradiol) because they all help with 'intimacy'. I mean, estradiol helps, but has it's drawbacks. The other 2 things from Parlor Games (haven't seen the gyn for annual yet & will ask) also help with the intimacy thing. Some day I will write everything down in a notebook that is relelvent to me, but for right now, I hope I am doing the right thing.....no I don't want dementia, I have a mom who has vascular dementia. I eat mostly plant based, exercise, meditate, etc. I don't know what is right or wrong for me. I don't know if the Dr knows either, since my old gym has moved on. Sorry for TMI, trying to figure out what's right ......

Hi Sherry! I’ve never heard of Parlor Games so you didn’t hear it from me. I know it can all seem so confusing. I usually recommend women start with my biomarker guide and a physical. Someone should be following you for the hormone therapy, reviewing any benefit/risks etc. I am working on a book that can help women put it all together. We still need a lot more research and for now have to live with quite a bit uncertainty. Sounds like you’re doing a lot to boost your health!

Happy Birthday!! 🎉 And thank you for another fascinating article; you break down the research into digestible pieces without cherry picking snippets to support a particular narrative - which is one of the reasons I love reading your work. And I appreciate how you share your thoughts regarding small vessel disease and how it's a contributing factor to both dementia and increased tau accumulation. Thank you for talking about the stuff that isn't splashy or likely to get a lot of attention on social media, but it's the information women need to know.
