In honor of World Menopause Day, I wanted to share my somewhat intricate supplement routine.
Most of the supplements I take are micronutrients, which research shows becomes more critical as we enter midlife. It wasn’t until then that I realized I wasn't fully meeting my needs. This gap had a noticeable impact on my health and well-being.
While what we eat is important, supplements help to bridge the gaps. Yet as I discuss in my video, it's important to remember that supplementation is not one-size-fits-all. Regular testing is crucial to determining not just which supplements to take but also the appropriate dosages for your individual needs.
And in some areas, we just don’t have the research to give definite guidance.
But one thing is for sure: bodies changes during menopause, and those changes can affect everything from nutrient absorption to energy levels. Knowing what your body needs and adjusting accordingly can make a big difference.
I know it has with me.
